cynicism

Cynicism

Who is cynic and how he behaves?

What are the psychological aspects of cynicism?

What can be the results of cynic behavior?

There are so many questions in regards to cynicism. Cynicism, to my mind, comes from arrogant attitude towards certain changes around the person. Every person likes being in comfort zone. The most of us like to be in comfort, in quiet and in stable condition. People like stability.

However, sometimes, stability of self-psychology creates stability of situation, which in its turn results in confidence or, precisely, in self-assurance. Self-assurance, or over-assurance, is the main reason of arrogance. Arrogant people tend to be cynic.

Cynic people's mind is not open. When something changes in his comfort zone, say, a friends of him offers him to visit an exhibition, the cynic, mostly, says that he will be busy at that moment. Arrogant attitude towards something new – at this situation, towards seeing new things at the exhibition and acquiring fresh ideas and knowledge on, say, painters, artists etc shuts his brain down. It stops accepting new information. Therefore, cynic people have a very narrow vision of the world. He is led by social, cultural and other forms of stereotypes, prejudices and false values. He lives in his own world – a world of his false vision, his wrong beliefs, his fake values. His level of understanding the world around him is narrow and shallow because of his predispositions towards new stuff

The cynic is ‘a person in glass sphere'. His ‘glass sphere' is a transparent shield around him protecting from attacks of outside world. Because he lives in his own highly valued, highly appreciated world, and he does believe that his world is an ideal world, he is out of reality. Mostly, he cannot accept certain normal life changes due to his out-of-reality attitude. His arrogance makes him live solitary life. Because, people do not like him at all. He always like people to think of him as smart guy, he always pretend to be clever, act intelligent.

The cynic is conservative. He cannot accept innovative information because of his 'acting clever' behavior. Simply, because he is ‘so clever' and ‘so intelligent' he simply cannot accept that. His arrogance does not allow him to foresee and see the light – a fresh stream of information. But, overall, he simply is not acting intelligent. He is being stubborn. People see that. But he can't see it. He is blind in terms of learning himself. Again, he cannot learn himself due to his arrogance to learning something new. When people say that he is not acting smart he simple gets angry because his over-appreciated confidence in himself does not let him accept the truth.
